What is KORC LP-FM?
Freeform local radio dedicated to playing great music and building community!
KORC is a low-power, freeform, community radio station serving the city of Corvallis. Listener funded and volunteer operated, KORC is dedicated to filling the gap in low-power FM programming with great music and unique local news.
KORC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with an FCC license and membership to the National Federation of Community Broadcasters. Our programming is broadcasted on 105.9 FM and also streamed on our homepage.
Our programming consists of both a song library (or our freeform hours) and individual shows. We pride ourselves on our diverse, independent, and – yes – even strange music and stories. The song library includes music that spans all genres and across many decades. From old school hip hop to heavy metal, crime jazz to prog rock, folktronica to vaporwave, and so much more. We offer music you don’t normally hear on the radio, including a good amount of local talent. Our DJs are your neighbors, friends, or the person behind the counter. This is because we’re all about making KORC a part of Corvallis, with shows run by locals who have full creative freedom. Additionally, we have a dedication to civic engagement, offering PSAs, conducting street interviews, and sharing hyperlocal news. KORC has the opportunity to teach civics by connecting music to civics in actions that are relevant to the community.
Our antenna is in downtown Corvallis and our coverage is quite small but our team is growing and our aim is to continue to expand without losing our independent radio ethos. Help us grow by volunteering or make a tax-deductible contribution here. Want to learn more? Let us know! Our email: info@korcfm.com
